RH: Jubaland President, Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe), has strongly criticized the leadership of the Federal Government of Somalia while addressing the opening of the Jubaland Investment Conference.
President Ahmed Madobe accused the federal government of halting the constitutional rights and financial entitlements of Jubaland, claiming that it has politicized development projects and infrastructure initiatives. According to him, this move undermines national development efforts.
He firmly stated that the federal government cannot be trusted with the management of developmental projects and public services.
"As long as a true Somali government is not in place, we do not want anything from the Federal Government. We have no mutual ties, and we do not recognize it as a government working for national interests. To us, it is merely a company operating in Mogadishu," President Ahmed Madobe declared, making it clear that Jubaland would manage its own affairs independently.
Furthermore, he accused the federal government of leading the country towards collapse and division, arguing that it has unfairly favored certain regions over others, particularly prioritizing Mogadishu while neglecting Jubaland.
On the other hand, the Federal Government of Somalia views Ahmed Madobe as an illegitimate leader, having previously rejected the election that brought him to power. The federal authorities have also accused him of being a national offender, stating that he has an active arrest warrant within the country.
